What to expect at Mainely Men Gatherings

Our pinky was Matt Lee, and our theme was along the lines of “I am a man with lots of feelings, and they are all fine.”

Early life experiences may have led to habits of stuffing feelings or behaving in ways that don’t allow us, as men, to feel fully or authentically because of internalized messages to “man up.” We explored this phenomenon and other topics that men brought to the weekend.

This is Matt Lee (seated on the couch), with his daughter, Pepper Lee!

Workshops Related to the Theme

Accept Yourself – We confronted societal expectations that encourage men to hide emotions and suppress authenticity. In a non‑judgmental space, participants explored harmful norms, built emotional awareness, and practiced vulnerability and self‑acceptance. Led by Don and Eric.

Unpacking Identity: A Journey of Self‑Discovery for Men – Participants shared personal stories and reflected on the experiences that shaped their identities in a supportive environment. Led by Steve and Rudy.

Additional Workshops

Energy Medicine – An introduction to acupuncture, distance healing, and electric therapy, followed by demonstrations and optional treatments. Led by Mike Noonan, D.C., Dipl. Ac.

Kegels Are Not Just for Women – A session on pelvic‑floor exercises to support men’s sexual health, with accompanying stretches. Led by Rich.
