Mainely Men COVID-19 Policy
Effective August 2023
Pilgrim Lodge no longer requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to attend functions at their facility. Pilgrim Lodge is in alignment with CDC guidance around COVID-19 vaccination and strongly recommends being up to date with COVID-19 vaccination prior to participating in a program at Pilgrim Lodge.
While the leadership of Mainely Men seeks to uphold the health and safety of the men who gather in community, we also seek to continue Mainely Men’s history of inclusivity, inviting into participation the widest possible diversity of men. The recent poll we shared with men who attended Mainely Men gatherings post-COVID-19 indicated a strong desire to no longer require proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to participate in the upcoming Mainely Men 84 Fall Gathering.
Therefore, while Mainely Men does strongly encourage each man to be vaccinated for COVID-19, we will no longer require proof of COVID-19 vaccination as a requirement for participation in its gatherings. We do, however, encourage each man to evaluate his own personal health and sense of safety in weighing his decision to participate in the weekend. As this is a personal decision, Mainely Men will not accept responsibility for any man’s decision to attend the gathering or for any subsequent exposure to COVID-19 as a result of having attended the weekend.
We will expect each man to be responsible for his own sense of comfort with social distancing and use of a mask, or not, and to be respectful of others who may wish to wear a mask or maintain social distance.
Additionally, some cabins will be designated as vaxxed cabins for those whose health, personal situation, or general comfort in enclosed environments dictates this as necessary for their sense of comfort and safety in attending the weekend. Use of these cabins will be on an honor system and vaccination status will not be verified by Mainely Men. We will not designate cabins as non-vaxxed. Each man is encouraged to consistently evaluate the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic in our area as the Mainely Men 84 Fall Gathering approaches and to act in his best interest in safeguarding his own physical, mental, and social health.
